I go a step further (pun) and actually take off my shoes before driving.  I have better control that way.

Interesting. In 1993, PB got a ticket in Hudson, NH ($47, IIRC) for driving while barefoot. I was in the passenger seat at the time.

Huh. Considering that the information on the website comes both from AAA and (in some cases) the motor vehicle depertment of states, I'm curious as to who is accurate. And what the current laws are?

Worst case, someone gives me a ticket for it at some point, and I stop. It's not like I get pulled over often.
