Going elsewhere for a vacation == goodness
Jan. 4th, 2010 01:30 pmIt's always good to spend time with
deyo and
mactavish and their dogs. The foster puppy just added to the excellence. Puppy in my lap!
It's also really, really nice to be somewhere that's not too cold to go outside to do things. Rainy, sure. Chilly, sure. Sometimes cloudy, sure. But not too cold to go outside!
A thing I often forget is that being not at home breaks me out of the 'do things that I have to do' state that I tend to get into. If I'm not at home, there's very little (beyond eating and sleeping and such) that I feel like I have to do. And that is a _significant_ mood improvement. (I didn't even work on my essay while I was gone) I truly do need to make sure that I have breaks from things I need to thing, and that's much, much harder to do at home. (darn chores!)
Yeah. That was a needed, and pleasant, week off.
