harp!

Last night, I learned that I can replace a harp string. I found this highly amusing, since it wasn't my harp, and I'd never tried before. Apparently fishing-wire-like stuff is unable to withstand my desire to tie knots in it. Knots! (I should learn to tie a wide variety of knots. It just sounds like a useful skill to have!)

I also made plans to buy aelisdeliria's harp from her. Lap harp! Even if I never really learn to play it, I _love_ lap harps. My gods, I love them. Have wanted a harp for years and years and years. Is, in fact, the only musical instrument, other than my voice, I've ever felt particularly drawn to _using_. (listening to is an entirely different story)

This does mean my nails are shorter. Not so short as to not be able to scratch, but not long enough to go out beyond the tips of my fingers. Apparently the harp won over my desire to have long-ish nails. ;)

sunspiral sent me the best present ever - a deck of Knot Playing Cards. On the face of each is instructions on how to tie a different knot.
