Free things on Fridays this summer

Me, I think the MIT museum on June 26th, Garden in the Woods on June 31st, Tower Hill Botanical Garden on July 17th, Arnold Arboretum at Harvard or Fruitlands Museum on July 24th, Boston Harbor Islands National and State Park on Aug 7th, Franklin Park Zoo on Aug 21st, and the EcoTarium on Aug 28th all sound interesting.

I also still mean to go to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum (mostly for what I hear about the Courtyard) at some point.

Oh good to know!

During the summer I get off work at 3pm on Fridays. So it'll be good to have a reminder of stuff I could go do after work. :)

Wow. Thank you. This is very well targeted at me (I don't work Fridays as a rule).

Definitely interested in anything with "Garden" in the name. Need to check the list against my existing summer commitments. Have somehow still never been to the Franklin Park Zoo in all the time I've lived here, mainly due to a poor geographical understanding of that area and worries about traffic, parking, getting lost, etc.

Maybe we (you and me, you and [livejournal.com profile] galaneia, all three of us?) could do some of these together, even!

I would be interested in doing some of these too.

It's a bit of a schlep (Sandwich), but if we can work it out the Heritage Museums and Gardens (http://heritagemuseumsandgardens.org) look like fun. Their free friday is July 3rd.

July 24th, I'm torn between the Edward Gorey House (http://www.edwardgoreyhouse.org/) (even longer schlep than the Heritage Museums), or the Arnold Arboretum.

Highlandstreet.org has a weird layout; Garden in the Woods is July 31st. I'm torn between that and the Sandwich Glass Museum (http://www.sandwichglassmuseum.org/)

Aug. 7th is the Greenway Carousel (11am-9pm), although really we could do that one any time. It is near Long Wharf, so we could potentially do it in conjunction with the Boston Harbor Islands. Which part of the Harbor Island were you thinking of doing?

August 28th would anyone be interested in doing either Sturbridge Village and Plymouth Plantation?

I actually don't know where Sandwich is? My vague sense is the cape, but that could be wrong.

I rarely find that houses are as much fun for me as I think they would be, so I'd lean toward the arboretum for July 24th.

Darn, I thought I caught all my confused dates! Thanks for catching Garden in the Woods. The glass museum _does_ seem cool, and now I'm torn too. ;)

I hadn't yet put much thought into Harbor Island locationwise. It just seemed nifty, and I've never been.

Not sure who you were specifically trying to talk to for the query about Aug 28th, but I don't think anyone is coming back to read LJ much.
