I'm coming to the conclusion that I need to make myself an upbeat playlist to use while I grade. At the moment, it's tiny, and includes Colbie Caillat's album "All of You" and song "Try", "Say Hey (I Love You)" by Michael Franti & Spearhead, and "Take Me To Church" by Hozier. (all added to my music collection recently)

I'm going to go hunt through my existing collection also, but I was curious if any of you have suggestions for songs you tend to think of as especially upbeat songs?

Def Leppard? Bryan Adams?

[livejournal.com profile] galaneia has a bunch of playlists...maybe she'll chime in?

I tend to listen to upbeat but non-lyrical music (generally electronica) when I need to focus. Albums include: "Pólýfónía" by Apparat Organ Quartet, anything by Daft Punk, "Impostor Nostalgia" by Big Giant Circles, "Increase the Dosage" (and other albums) by Revolution Void, various things by Binärpilot... but I don't know if that's really your groove.

As for lyrical stuff, you might like this: http://magnatune.com/artists/albums/lwood-duel/ Warning, auto-play with awkward and non-obvious controls, and there's overlays of "Magnatune!", but I can send you the album if you like the music. (They're cool with that.)

Hmm, interesting!

If nothing else, you reminded me of trance music, which I have some of and which often fits the bill. I shall have to remind myself of daft punk music (well, other than the obvious "harder faster stronger" one).

Thank you!
