or at least that's how it seems on some of the forums i frequent.

i have to wonder if it's because the people who have the time are often older.

anyway. makes for... interesting conversations on days like today. "more punishment! kill them all!" really? you think that works? entirely aside from any emotional mental societal effects, if that worked, we wouldn't have recurring problems!

anyway. i guess it was... an interesting distraction from feeling helpless?

Amused... over here, most of the local gardening forums/plantshares/etc. are very very left-leaning.

But then again, I live in Ithaca, the Leftest Place On The East Coast.

these aren't local, actually. it's a pond forum, since we have a goldfish pond. :)

locally? i think there is a mix, with the town garden club being mostly older ladies whose politics i do not know. i expect the local community farm is left leaning, just based on their feel.

Aaah. I have not managed to connect with global forums about gardening, mostly because shy.

I promise, not all right-leaning gardeners are of the "kill them all" variety.

i rather figured that not everyone is thinking that. and i suspect that if i were able to engaged them without making them defensive, they might not really think that either. anger and fear do have strong effects on one's ability to think clearly, and it felt like a reaction to that.

of course, the fact that certain 'news'organizations encourage it really doesn't help.

Yeah. It's a little ridiculous what people can get away with calling news...

One of the people I was referencing in the original post now sounds closer to libertarian, based on her comments about expecting government to take away all rights and liberties, not just guns. (I was trying to figure out why the recent gun bill that didn't pass was somehow evil or problematic to gun owners)

Looking at that table, it's hard to say if there is an age-based correlation, since they didn't specifically address the correlation, and the trend is a weak-looking one.
