For some reason, my co-workers seem to think I know *everything*. This causes some amusing
Co-worker: When this machine tries to load dos, it says 'loading dos....' and hangs. Why?
Me: I don't know. It's getting past the LILO prompt, and *then* hanging?
CW: Yes! Why is it hanging?
Me: I don't know. I'm not all that familiar with boot loaders.
CW: You *should* be, you use them all the time!
Me: Yeah, but so do you. That's what LILO is!
CW: Oh. But you work with it more!
Yeah. I suppose I do, in that I reboot machines constantly, due to the fact that our product completely writes an entire machine, and I maintain the machine which handles the installation of the software and filesystem and such. Testing such things is annoying, at times.
But... I *still* don't know why dos would have been hanging. Especially considering that a reboot made it perfectly happy to load, then continue on with the install in linux.
'k. Back to my pitchfork. Going to ignore the building of the monster for the moment.

Yes, I *do* break things as part of my job. :)
