My initial reaction to this is that we certainly need to prevent the possibility of a single company from being able to own all of the news media. Monopolies are bad, M'kay?

So, it's good for the government to be involved in the affairs of businesses, thereby keeping competition possible. But it's bad for government to get involved with individuals' lives.

Note: good and bad, being prone to individual interpretation, are currently being used according to my own view on life.

Where does one draw the line? What if someone is running a home business, with no help? Is that a company, or an individual? I'd suspect that it'd have to be a company...

What about the ways (none of which I can currently cite, so don't ask. And I may be hallucunating the fact that they exist.) that corporations sometimes appear to have the rights of individuals? They aren't people. They're businesses, right?

Hmm. If I had a point to this, I've lost it. Feel free to guess at my point, if I had any... I may not have. It's friday evening. My brain is fried. I go see X-men soon, though!
