It is, in fact, not a very good idea to give into impulses to go to a forested location after work when one is exhausted and isn't intimately familiar with the route. On the plus side, being lost (on the way back - the way there was fine) wasn't as stressful as normal, and I got unlost without asking for directions or stopping to check one of my many maps. Took excessively long to get home, though!

Apparently, I ate boiled squirrel when very young, in Pennsylvania. I do not remember this, and was told by my younger sister (whose memory is scarily good, and from a really young age) that this is a good thing. It apparently is nasty.

Is strange to be reminded while conversing with my sister of precisely how well off we were _not_, while growing up. I never really noticed it, at the time, except for when I was attending a private high school, and had to deal with children who _were_ well off, financially. I mean, it makes _sense_ - 6 children are not cheap! But, weird.

Sometimes I forget that not everyone is fascinated by the very act of traveling. Completely aside from any eventual location or people to be met, I mean. The new sights, smells, places. Heck, I was excited to be in Phoenix, even though we didn't leave the airport.

It's like my confusion when I run into people who aren't voracious readers. I never know what to do with that, either.

Do what I do: smile and nod.  "Okaaay... if you saaay so... hey, don't breathe on me, you might be contagious."

(Speaking as someone who isn't interested in travelling for its own sake.)
