It is _really_ _intensely_ annoying to:

be exhausted, but have one's body refuse to sleep more. Or even let you just lie there and rest.
think one _might_ be starting to get better, until one actually tries to do anything.
Be too damn tired to read, because following plot is too much effort.

Goddamn cold.

I'm afraid of how much worse it'd have been were I _not_ taking anti-sick pills...

I think I really _am_ slowly getting better, instant exhaustion if I try to do anything notwithstanding.

You have my sympathies!

Do, though, consider the possibility that the pills are making you more tired than you otherwise would be. Are you taking anything related to benedryl? If so, remember it's also a sleeping pill. Many cold meds have the side effect of extreme tiredness.

If exhaustion is your biggest complaint, stop the pills and see whether you get a lot better in the next 24 hours. (12 is too short to be sure, given the half-life of benedryl.)

Not the kind of pills that are likely to do that (immune boosters, mostly), and when I had a recent pill rebellion (I don't _like_ taking pills), I was _MUCH_ worse the following day.

Could this be cresting over into flu instead of cold? I hate to say it, but if you're that exhausted and it's gone on this long, I'd have to say it's a possibility...

Not that it changes the course of treatment any. It just might make you feel better about not having shaken it yet.

Let us know if there's something we can do...emergency drop-offs of chicken soup or whatever.

Flu is possible, since I fought it for a week, and have now had it active for about another half week.

I do feel like I might be getting better, today, in that I'm not being forced to stop doing work-related stuff yet. It's not fun, but it's no longer impossible to ignore (and since sleeping more isn't something my body will permit anyway, there's no real point in stopping if I can avoid it).

Dunno.

And thanks for soup offers. :) There's actually already some here, from [livejournal.com profile] points, as he gave some to [livejournal.com profile] jasra when she last visited him.

The version of this that I had included a fever for 4 days. At least she hasn't been "blessed" with that part of it.
