I appear to mostly have stopped feeling like a foreigner in my own country (indeed, in the area of my country in which I've spent most of my life). Which is nice!

Starting to manage to look the correct direction when crossing streets, although it still feels odd. I'm going to be amused if it takes as long to fully adjust back as it did to adjust in the first place. :)

I spent a couple of weeks in Great Britain driving on the left (correct) side of the road -- flawlessly. Then I got back to my house in California and nearly got myself killed coming out of my driveway. I knew I needed to be careful when overseas, but I hadn't realized I would need to be careful at home afterwards.

Huh!

I did at least expect that it would take me a bit to adjust back, but I did not expect - as appears to be true - that it would take me just as long to revert, even though I'm reverting to what was a lifelong habit.

And I didn't actually drive there, either. Now begin to suspect that I could have done so, at least when not handling truly strange things (like hook turns!), with minimal difficulty. 'Salright, I don't like driving, and I saw more of the local people who drive than I might otherwise have done. :)

But in Boston, you should look both ways, forward, up, and down! Any car,
moving in any direction (toward or away from you), or standing still is to
be considered a threat in Boston. Once you've learned those rules, you're
good anywhere in the world!

Be that as it may, it's still useful to look the direction from which cars will most immediately be coming (ie, on the side of the road you will be starting from), first! :)
