Unable to get back to sleep after Ash woke me at 4:45. *sigh*

Since I seem to be poor at remembering to lock him out of my room at night, now I have a water sprayer next to my bed. We'll see how that goes.

I also appear to have some sort of large rodent in my walls, based on sounds of scrabbling claws and movement. I'm guessing a squirrel, since I'm in the attic-level of the house. Going to be calling my landlord to see what can be done on his end; anyone know what can be done on mine?

I had one in the air ducts of my apartment once -- you can't really do much except hope that it goes back out the way it came and seal it up behind it!

There could also be roof rats. We had them in our house in Fremont.

Is this just especially clever rats, or a specific kind of rat?

But I don't know how it got _in_! Ah, well. Making noise near the wall made it leave my room, which was good, once I figured out what was going on.

They're rats that live in rafters and roofs. (I want to say rooves.) We had a few in Fremont. By the time we realized they were there, they'd grown a family, and caused a lot of damage to stuff in our garage, where they made regular forays.

Yeah, that's your landlord's problem -- probably a duct or pipe that opens to the outside and needs a grate or something.
