Norris' HyperSonic Sound system has won him an award coveted by inventors -- the $500,000 annual Lemelson-MIT Prize. It works by sending a focused beam of sound above the range of human hearing. When it lands on you, it seems like sound is coming from inside your head.

I remember reading about his AirScooter. But that sound system takes the taco - stick it in a helmet, with the projector at a fixed place on the forehead, and you can talk to fellow riders (or drivers - "Hey dumbass, don't hit me!", or cops - no more "Remove your helmet so I can tell what the hell you're saying") just by looking at them. Assuming it can get through plastic and metal and glass, which seems unlikely from the description but I can dream. . .
