He seems to be feeling much better; enough so that I'm back to the 'keep an eye on him' stage, rather than the 'going into the vet ASAP' stage.

He's happy to let me pet him, again, and is purring, and seems to not be having the constant urinary urgency problem he was having. And he's no longer overly warm to the touch.

So, I watch, and make sure he really _is_ healthy again. Poor kitty...

And now, I try to get some sleep before work.

Any chance he passed a small stone?

Huh! Not something I'd considered, as he was only sounding in pain _while_ urinating, and that's not how _I_ was with my kidney stones. Interesting thought, and one I shall keep in mind.

One of my kittties had frequent UTIs -- I ended up having to switch him to a special canned food. I also got something called No-F.U.S. Feline Urinary Support, which is an herbal mix containing cranberry extract and other bladder-helping things, and I've found that if I give him a couple of those when I see the first signs of an infection starting, it usually nips it in the bud. I started him on the pills at the end of his last major infection, and they seemed to help it clear up, too.

Hope your kitty and you are both feeling better!

So... how did you convince your kitty to _take_ the pills?

He actually loves the NoF.U.S pills and will gobble them up and beg for more. They must have kitty crack in them, because I've actually caught him up on the counter in the kitchen, trying to get the bottle down from the shelf where it's kept. And one time I came home from work to find the bottle on the floor with fang marks in it. *giggle*

Regular pills, though, I have to crumble up and hide in wet food, or else do the "wrap the kitty in a towel and pry his jaws open" trick, which results in fang marks on my hands and the neighbors thinking I'm torturing someone in here...
