This headcold is eating my _brain_! (brain, brain, brain, brain, brain, brain, brain, brain, brainity brain! *sung to the tune of Monty Python's Spam song*)
No one expect any sort of sense out of me until it's gone, including for such things as remembering that I am trying to make plans with you (unless I've already put it into my Palm).
One's hand can be a dog (Super Puppy!). And a spider. And one can make shadow puppets with it and a light source. They also work well as claws. "Sharp Pointy Teeth!"
My brain tries to make any phrase with the appropriate number of syllables be the following tunes:
Rubber Ducky - often. Seriously. My poor roommate...
The Dreidel Song (don't ask, I'm not sure I know) - most words repeated three times seems to get caught by this one. This might be why things said three times amuses me so much, actually...
Monty Python's Spam song
Jingle Bells also often gets partly into my head, to the severe annoyance of my poor roommate, who gets afflicted with most of my randomness.
I don't actually growl much. I usually say 'arrr', instead, causing people to think I'm being a pirate when, in fact, I am not. Sometimes I do really growl, though. Like when trying to get my tent back into its holder.
I earworm other people a lot. And generally not intentionally.
Meow! For some reason, I am no longer able to remember the Meow Mix song. Every time I've tried to remember it lately, the Spam song gets in my head instead. It doesn't quite work as well. Sometimes I can't even identify the tune, other than not what I was looking for in my head.
Da Vinci's Notebook pleases me. Made me laugh hysterically on the way home, especially "Another Irish Drinking Song".
Nap.
Also, brr!
Hey, at least I had a valid excuse for not getting anything done this morning; my computer was misbehaving.
But it's working now. I should try to get caught up on work mail now.
Fire and lightning are good. But it's good that I didn't try to go to work group last night, considering I was in bed last night at 8pm-ish. And at no point was I overly awake, even though I woke up multiple times. Weird. Must be sick, actually, 'cause normally I can't sleep _that_ much without doing something else somewhere in there.
(why are all these people friending me? *confused*)

Date: 2004-07-26 08:08 pm (UTC)Aaaah! Earworm! It's burrowing into my brain!
OK, if you want to get it back into your head (which won't get it out of mine, but earworms love company, too, right?) see if you can find someone who has a copy of the Bobs' most recent album ("Coaster") and listen to "Fluffy's Master Plan for World Domination." There's a bit in the middle where they steal the tune...

Date: 2004-07-26 08:12 pm (UTC)My commercial recall isn't so good, and they speak over part of the glorious cat singing, but it starts something like:
meow-meow-meow-meow
meow-meow-meow-meow
meow-meow(up)-meow(up2)-meow(up3)
meow(up3)-meow(up2)-meow(up1)-meow
Which goes on for a while and then end in
Meow (up2) - - Meow (up3) - - Meow (up4)
Of course, knowing neither how to write regular music or cat music, I just came up with my own system. I hope it makes sense.

Date: 2004-07-26 08:38 pm (UTC)At least one of these people is friending you because you appeared to be an interesting person on the basis of comments on Christina's journal (http://www.livejournal.com/users/sunyata__/) and a glance at your homepage. In turn, I friended her because she seemed interesting on Amanda's journal (http://www.livejournal.com/users/amanda42/). And Amanda is definitely interesting on the twister/sifter (http://www.sifter.org/) list. I got to sifter by way of a recommendation from my friend Evan Vetere (http://www.livejournal.com/users/vetere/), whom I've known for many years from the Culture Mailing List (http://www.culturelist.org/). Which I joined long ago in a bored moment in lab, which I was at because I was doing physics research. Which means it's all probably the fault of the Big Bang.

Date: 2004-07-27 05:53 pm (UTC)tis the season to be jolly fa la la la la, la la la la
don we now our [ something about clothing ] fa la la la la, la la la la
toll the ancient yuletide [blanks] fa la la la la, la la la la
*mildly annoyed, looks up lyrics*
Deck the Halls (http://www.always-safe.com/deck.html) (Sound)
Deck the halls with boughs of holly
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
'Tis the season to be jolly
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Don we now our gay apparel
Fa-la-la, la-la-la, la-la-la.
Troll the ancient Yule-tide carol
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la.
See the blazing Yule before us.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Strike the harp and join the chorus.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Follow me in merry measure.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
While I tell of Yule-tide treasure.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Fast away the old year passes.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Hail the new year, lads and lasses
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Sing we joyous, all together.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
heedless of the wind and weather.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la

They're Pinky and The Brain
Yes, Pinky and The Brain
One is a genius
The other's insane.
They're laboratory mice
Their genes have been spliced
They're dinky
They're Pinky and The Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain
Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain
Brain.
Before each night is done
Their plan will be unfurled
By the dawning of the sun
They'll take over the world.
They're Pinky and The Brain
Yes, Pinky and The Brain
Their twilight campaign
Is easy to explain.
To prove their mousey worth
They'll overthrow the Earth
They're dinky
They're Pinky and The Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain
Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain
Narf!

Date: 2004-07-27 11:53 pm (UTC)Perhaps I should apologize in advance to your room mate if in fact you start wondering around singing "brains, brains, brains, brains..." to that tune.
