Tomorrow, off to Chama, NM
May. 18th, 2010 10:09 pmNot, unfortunately, to ride the narrow-gauge train, as it opens a few days later. But still!
Today was largely spent shopping for groceries and car stuff, but I did also make it to Garden of the Gods (http://www.flickr.com/photos/wispfox/4620188603/). With a thunderstorm (pretty!) on the way there and when going into the visitor's center. It stopped raining and became sunny for my walk around the area, and then there was a little bit of rain - with sun - on the way out again.
Last night I helped moisten the skin of a snake who is in the middle of shedding (dry air is a problem for that!), as well as help remove said dead skin some. Held the snake, too. Pet a bird whose patience with someone she did not know was surprising to me. And, I took pictures of the cats (http://www.flickr.com/photos/wispfox/4620168503/). There are also pictures of me with the various animals, on other people's cameras.
Tomorrow morning, obtaining block ice and fuel for my lighter, and then off to Chama at noon!
