So, sleep and daylight have me in a more sane mood again.

Funny thing is? That mood was simply the result of driving home in the dark and rain last night. That's only a 30-ish minute drive. I mean, yeah, part of it was lack of sleep, but certainly not all of it.

*sigh* And I get to keep _having_ these kinds of mood shifts for the next 4-5 months, at least, with variation on how much time I spend being more normal again.

Now, to get access to the gym thing...

Help! I'm being attacked by this map!

(otherwise known as a 3-D map of the election results, via a co-worker)

But other people have content!

[livejournal.com profile] rmjwell pointed to an article about high school students protesting Bush's re-election in a library sleepover.

and [livejournal.com profile] ladytabitha pointed to a post by [livejournal.com profile] amaltheae making a link between the Boomers and the election results.

Also from [livejournal.com profile] ladytabitha, TV recaps, or how to get TV show plots without actually watching TV! (You know, I'm going to not read that now, because _that_ might actually get me interested)

Loss of power at around 12:30, with no projected power resumption means we all got kicked out of work, due to the emergency power on the lights in the stairwell running out soon. Weird to be home when there's still light!

I noted to myself, earlier today, that an awful lot of people seem to be treating the election, both beforehand and afterward, like a huge flame war.

"You're stupid." "You're amoral!", etc, etc, etc.

One thing I've noticed about flame wars is that they _never_ go anywhere good. Amusing, sometimes, for some people, but never good.

[livejournal.com profile] tafkar pointed at this post, which attempts to explain the Conservative Christian (specifically, Southern Baptist) mindset. It's fascinating, and kinda scary, IMO... (there's also some interesting commentary in 's post pointing to the link)

There's also some scary stuff going on as far as what Evangelicals expect for payback for the election turnout. (posted by [livejournal.com profile] wcg)

I have no idea who I thought I was kidding when I claimed I'd stop talking about politics. *shakes head*

This is actually a part of a post that I posted to alt.poly recently, which I decided I should post here, too. It's attempting to explain a frequent separation I have between input, processing, and actually having the information contained in that initial input. Slightly modified from the original post so it makes sense on its own.
