Apparently I offended a squirrel on the way to work today.

I was driving with the two front windows about two inches open, and a small acorn flew in the driver's side window, and hit me in the head. It wasn't until I got to work that I determined that it _was_ an acorn, mind you.

But damn, that squirrel has good aim! Through my only slightly open window!

Also, being so tired as to get sick is bad. I was home sick yesterday due to exaustion. I couldn't even remember my voicemail password, which was odd.

But! I get to avoid things which even get close to the evil of the past month for at least a month. Perhaps I can recover, now. :)

[livejournal.com profile] kightp posts about science writer position at Sea Grant at the University of New Hampshire (where I got my Comp Sci degree).

[livejournal.com profile] readers_list has an amusing analysis of LJ interests.

Been a while since I posted any quotes, hasn't it?

"Yin and yang, male and female, strong and weak, rigid and tender, heaven and earth, light and darkness, thunder and lightning, cold and warmth, good and evil, ... the interplay of opposite principles constitutes the universe." -Confucius

(thunder and lightning are opposites? And I'm going to just go ahead and ignore the spectrum of spots in between these opposites, 'cause I like the main point of the quote.)

"Fear and love can never be experienced at the same time. It is always our choice as to which of these emotions we want." -Gerald Jampolsky

"I saw my Lord with the eye of my heart, and I said:
'Who art Thou?'
He said: 'Thou.'"
-Mansur al-Hallaj

I blame [livejournal.com profile] aelisdeliria's post, which included the phrase "gods damn it all" for the fact that now I have Barrett's Privateers in my head. With hand gestures. The latter, I blame on Psinging.

(and the fact that 'hand gestures' and 'Psinging' together evoke multiple different results is rather disconcerting. My brain! It's like Google! On crack!)

I am _way_ too easily earwormed. Everything is (or can be) a song lyric! And the more songs I know, the more often this happens.

And I think damming _everything_ is probably overkill. Now that I'm thinking about it, I mean!

Found on [livejournal.com profile] kightp's journal, with an interesting (and IMO accurate) preface from the person who she got it from, about it looking like it was written by and for grownups. ;)

cut because I like y'all )
