Nov. 9th, 2003 08:34 pmInsane amounts of sleep is very useful with colds. Got over 12 hours Friday night, and somewhere around 10 Saturday night. This did mean I decided it was probably not wise to go to a party *starting* at 9pm on Saturday. I suspect I made a good decision, much as I wanted to go.
Today, I intended to drop by a housewarming for a few hours. I think I was there for something like 5 or 6. Very amused. Part of it was being in the middle of a game that lasted longer than expected, but I think I would still have stayed that late even had the game not lasted so long.
It was fun, and not highly effortful, and much yay. Especially much yay because it was a pretty big group of people at times, and the worst problem I had was not being able to hear anything - I did *not* have a 'too many people, eek!' reaction at any point. Of course, I did know a fair number of people there, which always helps. And I pretty much always had something or someone near me to focus my attention on (chatting, gaming, something), which also helps.
I am pleased. And met (or in some cases re-met) nifty people. Whose names I might actually manage to remember for more than two seconds. Probably due to having heard them repeatedly. Yay, repetition! Even I can remember a name not written, if it's said often enough! ;)
I really don't use names much. It's sort of strange, since I'm not entirely sure how I handle not knowing people's names and wanting to get their attention. I think I just stare at them intently and that does the trick. Which really shouldn't work, but tends to. *shrug*
