Heh. One of our production servers is down today. This makes for a very entertaining day at the office (like, say, co-workers learning to play the guitar). Off to a very long lunch, since, well, why the hell not? It ought to be back this afternoon. Maybe.

ohhh, so that's what it's like on the other side.. I'm used to the 'holy-crap' panic-scramble to fix everything reaction to a production server being down. Neat.

Well...

It's not an externally facing server, for one.

And for two, we can't do anything about it, and can't do anything work-related, so why stress?

I do wish we had a sysadmin in this office, though!

I was one of those sysadmin types (though very junior) so even if it was internal we still were running around crazy trying to fix it!
