[tv, random]

So, I periodically note that I rarely watch TV without anyone else around, and have mostly watched series as a social activity.

This doesn't, however, necessarily mean that I would not miss certain series, even if I initially watched them as a social activity.

One such series which I had a heck of a time remembering the name of (eventually gave up and asked Google) was Sliders - which I actively miss, and want to see again. May have to track down the DVDs.

I missed Buffy when I stopped watching it (I'd watched it regularly with a couple of different people, so I have strange gaps in my viewing), although not enough to do anything about it. And not, I don't think, enough to purchase it. (Although I do want a copy of the musical, since it keeps getting in my head. I have the soundtrack already)

I actively tracked down Babylon 5, after hearing enough about it. Of course, at the time I was living on campus and was able to make use of the fact that I had cable and access to the Sci Fi channel. Also, I had a VCR to record it for later watching. But Babylon 5 is, IIRC, the reason I finally owned a TV and VCR.

I actively tracked down and purchased Firefly, after seeing a couple of episodes on a friend's DVD of the series.

So there _is_ TV that I enjoy enough to seek out. It's just rare.

I have the first season of Buffy & B5 and could bring them back this weekend. I would happily watch them with you. And then we could see about Netflick or Blockbuster to rent other seasons? My cat should be able to survive one episode regularly, I think.

Plus yes, must own the musical Buffy episode. Must.

Alas, Sliders seriously shark-jumped after a while. I got very sporadic about it once they started losing original cast members, and I never got into the replacements.

I have Seasons 1 & 2 of Six Feet Under (http://www.hbo.com/sixfeetunder/), which I consider to be among the best drama series available, on DVD. You're welcome to borrow them if you're interested.

I have the musical as a computer file if you are interested in seeing it. I also have it as an MP3 file becauase I love to listen to it while I'm doing other things. I used to listen to it constantly when it first came out. :)
