So, now my kittie's belly is shaved (poor thing). And I know that surgery would be, by far, the best option, as the mass appears to be self-contained. Another option is to wait three months, and see if it's changing at all. I think I'm leaning toward the latter, if for no other reason than to not stress Ash out if there isn't actually good reason to do so. I shall also, however, be seeing what I can do to afford surgery for him if needed (somewhere around $1600). Apparently my concerns as far as his heart disease don't really apply much, as it's apparently still very mild (I talked to the sonogram guy while he was looking at the mass, as he's also who investigated the murmur).

Hey, at least this time I worked from home, so he didn't spend the entire day at the vets. Poor thing is _really_ starting to hate going outside or getting near the car... (sensible, since he only ever does to go to the vet)

Is it too late to look into pet insurance? I have that for my furballs but they haven't had anything major wrong. It did help cover for yearly shots though.

...

I didn't know there _was_ pet insurance. I'll investigate. If he has to have the surgery, I doubt it'll be too late, even though I've already paid quite a lot for him the past few months.

Ah. Yeah, it's too late: "Pre-existing conditions are not covered by our policies. A pre-existing condition is an injury or illness that occurred before the coverage date unless the injury or illness has been cured."

But good to know about it!

Ah. Yeah, it's too late.

Bummer.

I forget how I found out about it first. The company I work for even offers pet insurance if you want it but I already had some through VPI.

Huh! Impressive company, that. :)

I'm glad it's not dire straits.

Oh, definitely, me, too! And hopefully it doesn't grow over the next three months.
