Ok, ok - they are fine reasons - _IF_ they are actually the real reason. But they are generally used as reasons when the actual reason is either unknown or not being shared, and are therefore not valid reasons in those cases (even if amusing).

(unrelatedly, today is _such_ a chai day, since I'm not going to be home until 10:30p tonight. And I'm tired)

Completely fair, and feel free to call me on it if you think that's what I'm doing.

(But I continue to consider making you giggle to be a perfectly fine motivation, with making you ask questions (which I imply to mean "confusing you"), not far behind :-}.)

*laugh* Oh, I do. :) (and not just you!)

Certainly! It certainly seems to amuse people sufficiently, if nothing else. ;)

I think of making you giggle more of a *goal* than a primary motivation for something...even better if it can be done as a side effect of something even more useful.

Amusingly, commenting on me giggling tends to make me giggle harder (or at all, if I was not yet doing so). I have yet to figure out why this is so. :)

So, yes. Popular goal, I've noticed. :)

I had a friend who, when he'd been yelled at enough to quit tickling people, would sit right in front of you and say in a slow, calm voice, "Don't giggle. There is no reason to giggle. Don't...giggle." This is, of course, irresistible.

Heh! Indeed.

I'm glad someone got him to stop tickling people, though!
