GPS, GPS, GPS!

Yay, toys that are also things I actually need!

(Not so yay, the fact that it was a pain to install the maps! And now I kinda want to get a SD card just for maps, so I can play with them _all_, rather than just the ones which are local to me)

Maps, maps, maps.

And I'm far too entertained by having choices of voices. :)

Also, I could _not_ figure out how to install it using Linux, although I'm certain it's possible. Meh.

Choice of voices? I can just imagine the GPS of the future...Cagney style...

"So, what you want to do, see, is toin left here, see, and go up dat big road a ways."
"Yeah, boss, yeah."
"Den y'ere gonna make a right, see, but dey'll be a police station, so lay low, unnerstan'? No speeding, ya got dat?"
"Yeah, yeah."
"Okays, ya got dat, kid? Good."

*laughing*

No, it's more that there's three US voices, two UK voices, and one AU voice, for the ones which speak English. (guess which one I picked)

None say anything unusual, although that might be entertaining, probably because it would also be distracting. :)

I heard somewhere that TomTom (I think it was TomTom) does offer character voices too. Amusing.

What brand? I got off track three times on this trip, once with embarrassing consequences. The need for a new smartphone may finally push me over to GPS.
