[links.apod, silly]

My next phone needs to allow for custom ringers. Why? Because one of my co-workers' phone meows when it rings, regularly causing me to giggle. MUST HAVE MEOWING PHONE!

Pretty APOD, today.

I want my phone to meow, too! That's the only ring that would be noticeably better than the sound of a phone ringing.

*grins* Now I'm picturing multiple meowing phones. Like they're talking or something!

Ooo, that'd be excellent! Kitty-conversation!

Yes! 'sactly!

If you want "low-key", I've found that a
quiet bird chirp makes a lovely ring tone
that I can easily ignore if I feel like
ignoring it. But now I want a 'meow'. :)

Hee!

If your phone supports custom rings, I can ask where the meow one comes from.

It does--looks like I can even use (small) WAV files as ringtones (I have a Treo 650), so it looks like I'll have no trouble finding something appropriate. *rubs hands together and cackles*

Alas, said co-worker can't remember where he found it. But, yes, I'm sure you can find something. ;)

However, another commenter gave a link for animal sounds:

[catching up from long ago] Alas, mine is from the Dark Ages and does not. But thanks for the thought!

This "phone" (http://www.epinions.com/content_134324391556) meows, but not as a ring.

The Meow Mix jingle is apparently a popular cell phone ring tone (http://www.bcheights.com/media/paper144/news/2004/10/07/Features/Unique.Cell.Phone.Rings.Gain.Popularity-744859.shtml).

Yay, animal sounds! Now, I just need to remember where they are when I have a phone which can use them. ;)

Being able to use mp3's as ringtones on a phone makes it reasonably
easy to create highly amusing ring-tones of your own. Meowing
sounds like an excellent idea!
(My default ringtone is one I made of a Stargate dialing.)

A meowing phone would be SO COOL. And I'd love to see my cat's reaction to it. She already joins me in running to the phone when it rings, and runs to it even I don't. ::mee-OW, baby::

*chuckle* Your cat is funny. :)
