Hehe, nice. In case you were not aware, you may (de)code both morse and rot13 while inside your friendly emacs buffer!

M-x unmorse-region
M-x morse-region
M-x rot13-other-window

.../--.-/..-/././. !!!

Aaah, but you assume I use emacs! I do not. :)

[identity profile] uberjay.livejournal.com 2005-11-17 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't you want to use it now, though? ::grin::

But tetris in your text editor!

(though I can't actually use xemacs myself any more lest I end up with files with :w all over them)

I do not _want_ my text editor to try to do everything for me!

No kitchen sinks in my text editor!

Yay kitchen sinks! Kitchen sinks good!

(A relationship of mine recently had some .... trouble when we realized that we were of different religions. *They* used vi :-{ :-{).

I guess I'm still a polytheist. I swap between emacs (Well, Jove, actually) and vi more often than I swap between dvorak and qwerty.

Did you tell her her that girls who use emacs are hot?

(feel free to read that with switched genders)

[identity profile] wispfox.livejournal.com 2005-11-18 02:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Girls who use vi are hot, too, but in a different way! ;)

[identity profile] metahacker.livejournal.com 2005-11-18 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Girls who use emacs are easy to talk to, but want *everything*. Girls who use vi look simple on the surface but are horridly complex and will either ignore you our explode if you press the wrong keys, err, buttons.

You just got about thirty seconds worth of laughter out of me.

And yes, you're right--I'm much happier with someone who wants everything, but can talk about it, then someone who's wants are simple, but can't clearly express them and will blow up if they aren't satified. That works for me.

[identity profile] wispfox.livejournal.com 2005-11-18 04:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Damn. I don't get to fall into the category for _either_ editor.

*pouts*

But there's no need to pout; you *know* we think you're hot no matter *what* editor you use!

[identity profile] wispfox.livejournal.com 2005-11-18 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Well...

ok!

Hey, it just means I get to continue to defy categorization! ;)

Takes a lot of work on your part, I know :-}.

Thanks, I'm here all week. Don't get me started on girls who use Word, though...

("I thought you wanted new sheets, so I just ordered some printer paper, and torched your office while I was at it. By the way, I also set you up with an internment connection, like you asked, so you can surf the web from Abu Graib...")

*snort* *laughing*

I'm far too entertained at this mental picture, thank you!
