Were the couple-three female Jedis we saw killed in EPIII not humans?

The ones I can recall had bluish skin (I'm thinking particularly of that one scene during Order 66) and/or weird head things, which means "not human" in the Star Wars universe. I can't recall if any of the "younglings" (*barf*) were girls, however.
