I wonder how hard it would be to have a daily APOD background app for various OSes.  When you log in, the process runs, and downloads the new image (replacing the old one, less'n you copy it over, no sense eating space) for the desktop.

... I don't know. But, I note that there are a fair amount of them that I just wouldn't _want_ as my background. Thus why there are sometimes long stretches of time when I don't point people at any.

I don't think it would be that hard, maybe even an AppleScript for MacOS or MacOS X. It would be easier if they dated the picture urls though...
