[food] How... odd.

In a 'what the hell?' kind of way, I've found myself actively craving steak lately (a few months).

Now, I'm not a vegetarian, and have never been. Beef was, however, never something I particularly wanted until recently. I have no idea what to do with this, really.

Buy a good steak and grill/broil/pan-fry it? :-)

Honestly? It sounds like you're missing some nutrient that comes in steak. May well be iron.

As for "how to cook it", I suggest with pepper and worschestershire sauce.

I find that I get horrible cravings for steak when my iron or B12 are particularly low (esp. my iron). I generally avoid beef, so when I get the craving, I usually just listen to it.

Do you like mexican food? Steak fajitas are one of my favorite ways to quiet the "must have meat!" voices in my head. They're easy, too.

Get meat, bell peppers (red are best in my opinion), and onion. Chop into little bits. Cook together over a very high flame, along with a generous glop of chili powder or hot sauce or whatever spicy things might make you happy. Put it all in tortillas with the toppings of your choice (I usually put tomato, cilantro, cheese, and sour cream) and consume.
