[livejournal.com profile] tafkar pointed at this post, which attempts to explain the Conservative Christian (specifically, Southern Baptist) mindset. It's fascinating, and kinda scary, IMO... (there's also some interesting commentary in 's post pointing to the link)

There's also some scary stuff going on as far as what Evangelicals expect for payback for the election turnout. (posted by [livejournal.com profile] wcg)


I have no idea who I thought I was kidding when I claimed I'd stop talking about politics. *shakes head*

I grew up in a very religious, very Southern Baptist household.
I sang solos in church and led the youth group and taught Vacation Bible School.

She is much more adept at talking about the Southern Baptist mindset than I am though, I just call it brainwashing.
