ladytabitha, funniest rant about feminine hygiene products ever. (why are they called that? It sounds so... prissy!)

susboid asked about the article about how fannish linguistics differ from mainstream. It's nifty!
Twilight is this coming weekend and I'm _nervous_! Aaah! (I'm also in the Mockingbird clan)
People whose use-names are also UNIX commands (even if unintentionally) have a _significantly_ higher likelihood of me remembering their name if I've only heard it. [edit: I guess this ought to read 'UNIX commands which I don't associate with something else, first']
Had a visit from J-with-no-LJ (aka the friend I've known the longest) this weekend, which was excessively brief. And I saw some of my family members (and talked to another on the phone for a while). I'm really looking forward to when I actually have a weekend day to myself... (the 17th! Mine!)

I probably just have a strange sense of humour. (ok, I _know_ I do. ;)

no, no. I think it is *I* who have the strange sense of humor. Or, actually...maybe I'm just too jaded, having read (believe it or now) one too many rants about having one's period. [how is that possible?] I guess I feel that some things deserve a little attention and then one might go quietly on with their life, not giving it more mental energy than necessary.

I grew out or rather, grew away from that eventually, but the sour taste of all that shared vitrol is still in my mouth.

never had much of that, myself.
Re: use names
So, would that include ellen or just people like cat and biff?
Re: use names
Re: use names
The example in question is 'rm'.
Re: use names
Actually, I suppose I need to rephrase that to 'words which I associate _only_ with UNIX commands', because cat is something I associate with an animal, first. And biff, I associate with names for people, first.

I don't tend to make the jump from 'ln' to 'ellen', even though I pronounce them the same. :)

*hugs* Don't be too nervous :) Do pack your long underwear -- one year I didn't take mine off after Saturday morning. Like, at all :)
Email me if you want to talk more?

That might be difficult.
Things I have not done anything similar to make me nervous because one of the things I'm really _bad_ at is coping with completely new situations. (used to cause me to freeze. I think it no longer does) This combines interestingly with my neophilia, and is likely part of my trouble with the act of getting to places, even though I love traveling. :)
I also dislike driving somewhere new by myself, if there are time constraints. Which there are.
Long underwear, noted. I think I even have some!
