Being pedantic lad, I think they are confusing intensity with vigor. "I'm going to be the most intimate that I ever have been." would likely be a good thing.
The Mighty Mighty Bosstones have a guy whose official function is listed as: "Bosstone". All he does, (from what little I understand) is jump around and dance around to whatever's going on onstage.
I wonder if the Arcade Fire guys got their idea from the Bosstones, or vice versa.
