Isn't "disturbingly cheerful" the same as scary? It seems that the "disturbingly" would be a contributor here...

Well, in this case, I don't think he was actually _being_ cheerful, but simply smiling frighteningly huge as a self-defense mechanism. :)

I had a math teacher once who was disturbing cheerful. In the morning. About Calculus. *groans*
