Oops, I missed a couple links. The fisrt one is even one I read the original of! Bad me!

[livejournal.com profile] tacit is looking for "contributions of original fiction, nonfiction, art, and photography, with an edgy, BDSM/psycho-sexual/cyberpunk feel". Pass it on!

And, as linked by [livejournal.com profile] ladytabitha, [livejournal.com profile] yuki_onna explains how her "childfree" is totally different from, say, [livejournal.com profile] childfree.

*shakes head* Methinks I'm glad I'm confident enough in my preference for letting _other_ people have children to never have wanted to read [livejournal.com profile] childfree. Yikes. Do none of those people have friends with children? I mean, admittedly, I have some amount of avoidance of small children, but that's because they take _way_ more of my energy than most things do.

I have "childfree" listed as one of my interests because I don't want or intend to ever have kids, not because I hate children. I find calling children "crotch-droppings" incredibly offensive. It's unfortunate that the shrill, child-hating, nasty-name-calling contingent (I've ranted about them often) are the first thing people tend to think about when they hear "childfree". I read alt.support.childfree for about a week before I couldn't take it anymore, and quickly decided that [livejournal.com profile] childfree wasn't a good place for me either.

yeah - there needs to be a good word for people who choose not to have kids but aren't assholes about it :)
