Do you want to be a panelist at Arisia?

Have you wondered how that happens?

For more information about how to indicate interest in being a panelist, go here:
http://www.arisia.org/ProgramParticipation

Or, to suggest a panel:
http://www.arisia.org/brainstorm

Lots of panels need more variety in their panelists, whether more women, more people of color, or other under-represented groups. So please, if you're interested, go say so. :)

This is interesting to me, but I think there's also Imposter Syndrome at work. (As in, when I've gone to Arisia the past two years and attended different panels, I've sometimes felt like there were things that could be done better or perspectives that were missing, but if I have to fill out a form saying what my expertise and background are, or that I should be chosen, I feel awfully underqualified...)

Interesting! I can definitely see that as a problem. Now I wonder if the form can be adjusted to better support people who'd volunteer otherwise!

So I just took a look at the actual form, and maybe the phrasing isn't awful? "What experience, knowledge, or expertise would make you a great panelist for Arisia?"

So maybe you can talk about the things that you think were missing that you could offer, without getting tripped up by having to say that you're an expert?
