morning babbles

My complete lack of awareness of dates always amuses me. Even though I know I'm going to a memorial day thing this weekend, it didn't dawn on me that I might (and do) have Monday off. Sudden long weekends are neat, but now I have no idea what to do with the sudden extra day!

OTOH, that's probably the day my roommate returns. Which ought to be interesting, as I'd readjusted to having no roommate. Eh. Whatever. Sleepy & brain hurts.

And I managed to lose my wallet again, the second time in 5 months. Considering that I'd not lost it for years and years before it vanished at Arisia, I have no idea what's up with this. This most recent time, it apparently fell out of my pocket (and I know where it is, and will be picking it up after work tonight). So, it's no longer going to be allowed to live in my back pocket. Into my bag with the rest of my crap!

I may be getting a bike this weekend, too. Nifty. Of course, it'll need to fit into my car in order to get it *home*, 'cause it's in Davis Sq somewhere. Should be interesting determining what I can bike to in Andover, on such a day as I randomly feel like biking. :) I've not had a bike in... 6 years. I suspect I'm likely to hurt the first time I use it, as I never use such things for *short* periods of time.

Today, I appear to have a combination of _One Hundred Names_ and _Mr Right Now_ (both by the Nields) in my head. Teach me to listen to one last night, and one on the way into work this morning. ;)

They go very strangely together...

I have a car bike carrier and very little on my plate for this weekend (and live near Davis).

Send me email to arrange something if you want.

The rear seat in your car folds down, right? Pretty much any bike should fit easily with the seat folded. If not, you can probably still get it in the trunk if you take the front wheel off.

What you said is pretty much what my hope is, yes.

I'm not *too* concerned, but it'd be really annoying if I couldn't bring it home. I want a bike again, dammit! :)

(but I want one that I can transport myself....)

If it's a tight fit, it's often easy enough to remove the front wheel.

Also, you could always invest in a bike rack, if you think this is going to be an ongoing issue.

It fits! It fits well, even! Just as long as I don't need to have lots of stuff in my trunk and back seat at the same time, that is. :)

Yay, bike!

Evil inflictor of Nields earworms!

You've now got Mr. Right Now in my head.

[identity profile] wispfox.livejournal.com 2003-05-23 12:06 pm (UTC)(link)
*laughing evilly*

Hey - wait. Does that mean you could open up your head and get him out? That'd be a nice talent to have!

[identity profile] wispfox.livejournal.com 2003-05-23 12:12 pm (UTC)(link)
*replying to myself*

Now my brain is going off on the sheer niftiness of that title.

Because my next thought, after getting that stuck in my head again (but not in combination with any other songs), was "I've got _Mr Right Now_ in my car, so maybe I can get it unstuck after work."

Hee. In my car, in your head....

Maybe. But wouldn't it be better if it were Mr. Right instead of Mr. Right Now?

[identity profile] wispfox.livejournal.com 2003-05-23 01:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmm. If I believed in such a thing, maybe. :)

Can you tell I've been talking to my mother again?

[identity profile] wispfox.livejournal.com 2003-05-27 12:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope, as I've not met your mom, and my mom doesn't believe in a Mr Right, either. :)

But I can't say I'm terribly surprised that talking to one's mom can cause such things to happen.

Note: I did *not* say that I don't believe in Mr. and/or Ms. Absolutely Amazing.

Just that I don't believe there is a single perfect person for me out there; I like entirely too many things which seem to generally not go together very well. :)

Mom believes that someday soon I'll meet the right guy and blah blah blah...I don't necessarily agree with what blah blah blah equals to her. I would be okay with the right guy part...so long as it didn't mean giving up the others. And the girls.

At some point I will have to post a discussion of my mother and why I think she's a sadist.

[identity profile] wispfox.livejournal.com 2003-06-01 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
Your mother as sadist... Hmm....

Now I'm really curious. :)
