[locals] does anyone know where I might find American toad eggs or tadpoles?

I'm hoping to add some American toad eggs/tadpoles to our pond/yard so that they eventually help with eating slugs, but as far as I can tell they aren't in our town at all. I suspect that it's because people use pesticides on their lawns...

I realize that adding them may be sad for them if they decide to relocate, but I want to have at least tried, you know?

You can come and gather some from our retention ponds. The noise of the peepers at night is astounding.

I can also supply adult toads, but I don't know how they'd feel about being transplanted.

I forget where you currently are! Could you email me your location, and sometime in a week or two, I might drop by. :) (and if you know where adult toads are, I may try to get a few, and even try to get some that are not just one sex)

You can just... *get* toads? I want toads too!

It's sad that you don't have them. The pesticides thing is pretty plausible. :-(

If you have habitat and know where some live, of course you can. :)

Do you want some?

Also, you should come visit! And I should go email [livejournal.com profile] elusiveat now that my semester is nearly done.

If there happen to be extra toads, I would definitely not say no!

I would love to visit some time. I haven't seen y'all in a while.
