Outdoor furniture

If you were looking for functional, simple and eye-pleasing, sturdy outdoor furniture that didn't cost an absurd amount, where would you look?

Both for a third floor deck and a small patch of lawn/patio?

I realize this is a very general question, so maybe [livejournal.com profile] galaneia and [livejournal.com profile] metahacker will chime in. :)

autism spectrum & gifted

Because the rest of you might be able to answer, even though I mostly could not. My mom was wondering if there was an article that could be given to high school teachers explaining the needs of a gifted high school student who also has Asperger’s.

I found more than nothing, but nothing exactly that. This surprised me, a bit. So I thought I'd see if y'all could find anything!

(I suspect that while I could probably write something, it's not quite what she wanted, and my writing brain needs to be used for essays!)

[RFP - Request for PJs]

[typed by [livejournal.com profile] jasra]

Some of you have found footie pajamas via my journal. I, however, am in search of non-footie, but one piece and soft and fuzzy pajamas. Preferably a solid color. More preferably purple or blue (both jewel tones). So far, my google-fu has failed. And lo, I turn to all of you.

Footie ones are bad because my feet like to have the option of being covered or not. And now to sleep in my currently falling apart one piece non-footie pajamas! :)

Icon request

As a result of a _very_ silly conversation I just had, I now very much want an icon containing the word "curious!", in bold, italics, underlining, rainbow colors, sparkly, and sort of slowly gradient color shifting.

Because, really curiousness prevades every aspect of my life. And sometimes I need to remind people of this. Also, because sparkly and rainbowy and gradienty reminds me of [livejournal.com profile] starandrea. Which is always good.

Also, gesturing to people you are on the phone with is somewhat less than useful. Although funny when I noticed. (And when I noticed and commented, I found that I gestured _more_.)

[Query] Doctor Who

[Typed by [livejournal.com profile] jasra]

Because uncomfortable reactions to the intro of Doctor Who prevented me from getting into it until I recently gave it a shot again with the first season of the new Doctor Who, I know basically nothing about the original.

The first season of the new Doctor Who is making me very happy, and therefore, I would like to know where I would be advised to start, if I were to be attempting to educate myself on what I missed in the original series.

I apparently recognize Tom Baker and Peter Davison as their incarnations of the Doctor. This probably means I have seen _any_ that they were in and liked them enough to remember them. For what that's worth.

So, suggestions? And, for those who are local, if you have any DVDs of any episodes you think I would like to see, that would also be appreciated.

Note that I am somewhat easily creeped out and this makes it difficult to watch anything which is intended to do that. For example, in the season I've watched, the episode The Empty Child was _very_ hard for me to watch. So, unless an episode is important for character or plot development, I would prefer to avoid especially creepy ones.

How does one go about finding a good accountant?

Also, very red APOD today.
