Why are so many interesting TV shows creepy? I can't watch Torchwood anymore, because there were too many creepy shows in a row. Same with Heroes. *grumble*

Then don't watch Supernatural. It's quite creepy. In fact the writers try to write a horror movie every episode.

Yeah, I had that suspicion. It's sad, though, as it sounds like it's also really good!

Bad people, creeping me out...

Yeah, it's more of a jumping out at you scare than an actual gore fest, but still creepy.

Yeah... jumping out at me _is_ the thing I can't cope with, if any tension at all around it. So no Supernatural for me. :)

For a while one reason I liked Supernatural was that despite the fact that it was "horror" theme, it was a lot more suspense than actual eww-horror, and none of the things that went bump in the night did so too obviously. Of course, lately they've gone much grittier. I still watch it, but now I have to twitch and close my eyes on occasion.

Me too. It still freaks me out. Like Crossroad Blues where the faces morphed and twisted into something out of that Scream painting? I, uh, had to watch a lot of Friends before I could go to bed. I think what helps is that for the most part, MOTW is killed off by the end of the ep, so you know it's safe at night. Much like X-files and Buffy was.

I never quite thought of it that way, but that's why I've always preferred MOTW to mytharc in X-Files and Supernatural both.

(Also, it helps a lot when the heroes are hotties. I don't know why, but it really does. So for Supernatural you know that no matter what the pretty boys will live or there won't be a show, so the ick is fine. Of course, getting attached to anyone else is inadvisable.)
