I note that I appear to be doing my normal trimming of my friends list ('normal' in that I seem to do it about twice a year). It's generally some combination of whether or not I tend to skim people, if their posts take too much energy from me to read, or if I've little to no sense of them (usually people who post rarely, if ever, and who I don't otherwise know). It's _not_ a reflection of my opinion of a person! (It is, however, a reflection of the fact that I tend to read too damn many people!)

How... definitive of you!

It's hard! Besides not wanting to hurt feelings, there are so many people I find interesting, when I have time.

Yeah, I get that.

Time-wise, I ought to have trimmed more than I did trim. But, well, the whole 'interesting when time' problem...

*nod* I use filters, but not everyone is comfy doing that. (I have a "Catch up after a vacation" filter, a "Read most of the time" filter, and "Everyone" for when I'm not busy.)

My problem with using filters for regular reading - I do, when on vacation - is that I have problems where I get overwhelmed too easily when trying to read too much at once. So if I don't read everyone regularly, I'll never get to the ones I don't read regularly.

At that point, I see no point in doing that, so I don't, usually.
