[mood.out of sorts]

(and I don't even have anything to sort!)

My _god_, I'm out of sorts today. And I don't want to be highly social (which means I canceled my plans for the evening, as they were likely to be highly social). But I desperately want cuddling, from people who actively _want_ to. And _GAH_!

Tomorrow, though, [livejournal.com profile] brynndragon visit. Yes. And, tonight, I measure my new place so I have important information. And bring boxes from the old place. And a fan. My god, yes, a fan. (perhaps, I shall also investigate room-darkening curtains. Possibly better blinds, too. Those should reduce the amount of heat captured by the windows in summer. Not immediately, but soon. After more fans).

One of these days, I will remember to attempt to schedule one-on-one or _very_ small group visits with people who actively enjoy cuddling with me for immediately after (and at least the day/evening after) [livejournal.com profile] australian_joe leaves. But then, that does rather require remembering, people for whom that is true, _and_ that they have the time available.

OK, I'm completely useless by this point; I go home. At least I managed to stave it off until nearly end of day!

Thanks. :)

Still working on the scent in the new apartment. Meh. I do hope it's improved before you check the place out, or _I'm_ not going to be able to live there!

What on earth did they use to clean the carpets? :( I hope the smell improves soon.

*shakes head* It's not the stuff they used to clean, it's the _reason_ they need to clean.

The previous tenants apparently had poorly behaved cats (or possibly a poorly leak proof cat box), and the carpet (and apparently the pad under the carpet) where the box was is quite stinky. They apparently replaced that, and are going to clean again, but apparently it's difficult to clean the pad from such things.

Not sure, but I also suspect that the cats urinated in locations not near the cat box. And yes, the carpet could be replaced, but that would make the place no longer in my price range.

Ugh. I'm surprised they don't see the cost of replacing the carpet as an expense of owning an apartment and just do it. :-/ Kind of like having to paint when someone moves out.

How much more would it add to change the carpet? (My brain is all thinky/doing calculations.)

At this point, I'm not sure replacing the carpet is an option, but... I think the price increase was to something like 1250 a month from 1100 a month.

Keep in mind, though, the size of the place makes the 1100 a month a _steal_. I think they reduced the cost to reflect not wanting three people in there, as well as not replacing the carpet.

Ok. Keeping my fingers crossed on the whole thing for now then.
