[whine] Kitty, mostly

My head hurts, my kitty scared me badly this morning, and I've been sleeping poorly for a few days.

The problem with the first and last is that I can't hide from my own damn body. As far as the headache, I'm suspecting confused sinuses because of the weather, so decongestants, it is.

The second is relating to the heart stuff. Brought him into the vet this morning because (apparently) his back legs just stopped working for a bit, and he was _not_ sounding happy. The vet suspects that he had a blood clot in the artery that feeds into his back legs. This one didn't stay there, and was a very brief episode, but the prognosis for survival/reasonable quality of life if he gets one that gets stuck at the place where the arteries split and go into his legs is 25%. And yes, he's on blood thinners. And if he gets a blood clot in his leg artery which doesn't keep moving, a 25% survival rate probably means that I'm going to have to decide that trying to do anything about it isn't the right choice, and letting him go is. I _hate_ having to make this kind of choice. And it's a choice I need to make before it happens, when I'm in a reasonable state of mind and not all emotional about it.

Cardiac sonogram on Weds.

Still don't know anything about the apartment I want.

Our kitty Rufus threw a clot - a bad one - stuck in the split between his hind legs and paralyzed him. We had to put him down then - it was too late to reverse the damage that had been done.

Until then, though - he was fine. Running and playing and being a regular cat.

We had talked through it before and had decided that it was a quality of life issue for him. As long as his quality of life was good, we would do whatever we could to ensure that he was able to live his life.

Poor kitty, and poor you. I hope the answers become clear to you soon.

Eek, sounds like a simple dose of good luck is in order, hoping any clot goes to the right place, not the wrong place, if it happens at all.

It's possible to get little carts for small dogs with leg problems, so that may also apply to cats. Not fun to think about, but possible.
