True, Florida has the egrets and other assorted stickystalky wading birds. They're great too, and they get major froufrou points during mating season.

My last notable bird sighting: a bald eagle flying into the touristy downtown waterfront area in Seattle. Then a loud racket, followed by this huge swarm of seagulls lighting out from everywhere to fly up and surround the eagle. It turned tail and flew back in the direction it came, seagull cloud in tow.
