The thing that gets me is something like 15% of picketers have had or supported a spouse/daughter (i.e. went to the clinic with them and probably paid for it) having an abortion. A goodly number of them actually believe that it's OK for them (or their family members) to get an abortion, but Heaven Forfend someone else doing it.
Most people who think/feel that abortion is murder probably never found themselves in a situation where it might be a consideration. It is actually both a lot simpler and a lot more complex than that, which is a very scary thing. That explains why some folks would rather ban it than maybe someday have to think about it. . .
