I need to be told specifically about something if it falls outside where my own normal privacy stuff is, if it's going to have any effect on my behavior.

The vast majority of the time, the need to be specifically told not to show/talk about/etc something will only come into play in regards to me talking to the people I talk to everything about, and only if it in some way also relates to me.
