I have no go to word for this!

I believe that the "traditional" union suit had some crotch access (drop seat was just one style) , but that it is not required for the name. Although I suspect these days "pajamas" may be an equally acceptable term.

Pajamas is a huge category, though!

I begin to suspect I know why it's difficult to figure out a term for this. :)
