So why do you people read me, anyway?

I was wondering, while driving home, what it is about my journal that makes you people want to read it.

And, for those of you who know me in person, if that is why, or if there are other reasons.

So - share! Tell me what brings you to read my journal, if you are so inclined. My curiosity wants to know!

Oh, don't get me wrong -- the research itself was very good. At the time, it was something that other people in computer-generated music weren't doing. But the music that came out of it really was crappy.

Imagine taking two dice, one twelve-sided die with all twelve notes on it, and another arbitrarily large one with different durations. Roll them both and write down the note that you get, and keep doing that until you've got eight bars or so of a melody.

The music my research generated wasn't a whole lot better than that. It had no real structure to it. If you know what to look for, you can see the smaller-scale structure, but none of it was really audible.

Ah... ok, I understand now. :)
