Via [livejournal.com profile] ladytabitha, a slideshow of one person's view of Katrina. Stunning, not particularly unpleasant (I note, however, that I've never been to New Orleans, so I don't have any 'this looks so different!' perspective). (not lj-cut because it's not particularly unpleasant)

[various]

My kitty is utterly thrilled by the fact that I worked from home Friday, and had a long weekend, most of which I spent at home.

I am pleased that there was a [livejournal.com profile] ladytabitha and a [livejournal.com profile] starandrea here on Saturday and Sunday, but vaguely baffled by the fact that I really do appear to be in a mindset of not remembering that people who I don't cuddle with regularly may appreciate it.

Vaguely out of sorts, probably because there are no people here. But, [livejournal.com profile] jasra moves in Sunday. This is good. That way there will be someone other than me around when I'm home!

I should also have food. I really don't do a very good job of eating when home alone!

[livejournal.com profile] starandrea is curious, and asks interesting questions. I suspect she'd had problems asking questions of people she doesn't know or read, however. (I would, were I her!) Answering that question was _hard_, as that's the kind of thing I tend to actively try to not think about. Probably also part of why I'm out of sorts, actually.

[livejournal.com profile] ladytabitha links to a post on dealing with stress, mostly Katrina-related. (Yes, this is part of why I cut tag any Katrina links - let's not overstim my readers, 'k?)

I miss [livejournal.com profile] australian_joe.

I see [livejournal.com profile] brynndragon Weds night, which is good.

[weekend, links, katrina]

I am entertained to note that [livejournal.com profile] ladytabitha has taught me to knit (at my request), but because of fairly immediate preferences on my part, the way that she doesn't herself knit (continental). I am also entertained to note that knitting is very good at handling my out of sortsness and restlessness.

Via [livejournal.com profile] bridgetester, If you could make anything you wanted, what would it be? This concept makes me _happy_. But I think it would not be something I could easily use, being severely spatially impared. But oooooh, what a tasty idea!

[links, commentary]

By [livejournal.com profile] ladytabitha: I agree! Also, I say 'yay!'. :)

I am also reminded of the fact that anyone who honestly thinks that the inability to articulate a point means that the point doesn't matter is _NOT_ someone I can healthily spend time around. Seriously. If something is a problem enough to speak up about it, that _SHOULD FUCKING BE ENOUGH_. Being able to explain something is good, and high on my list of things I try to do, but inability does not mean that a problem can be ignored. (I don't know people who do that anymore, fortunately. Mostly because, as I said above, they are not people I can healthily spend time around!)
