I get _lots_ of stuff done when I'm trying to distract myself.

Also, sleepy.

Also, from [livejournal.com profile] nikkinewsnet, He prints images of maki on pieces of edible paper made of soybeans and cornstarch, using organic, food-based inks of his own concoction. He then flavors the back of the paper, which is ordinarily used to put images onto birthday cakes, with powdered soy and seaweed seasonings. Fascinated!

I feel like my brain is falling out my ears. But that would be messy, so I hope it's not!

I actually saw and talked to [livejournal.com profile] ayalanya last night. She's been gone a lot this week. My cat is confused.

There will be a visiting [livejournal.com profile] majes tonight! I hope I'm sufficiently awake that I'm at least vaguely decent company.

There will also be a [livejournal.com profile] randysmith visiting on Saturday. Yay!

Thingy. Also, meow! (my co-workers don't meow back! It's sad)

The Just How American Are You? Test, http://www.okcupid.com/tests/take?testid=5644794367446528456

Tourist: You scored 23 Patriotic, 15 Lazy, 0 Power Hungry, and 84 General Knowledge!

Congrats! You know a lot about America, without actually possessing the personal stereotypical American characteristics. Perhaps you are an American who simply doesn't act as lazy and power hungry as most of the others. Or perhaps you googled a few questions to get some answers. Or maybe you just paid attention in class?

*laugh* Look! I'm a tourist in the only country I'm a citizen of!

So, I've been reading a X-mas present from my parents which is my mother's father's autobiography, effectively. I never really felt like I knew him very well, and this is sorta changing that, in a weird kind of way.

And I just got email from my mom mentioning things like him asking for a DNR[1], and him being in the hospital (again), and such.

Unlike a bit over a year ago, when my father's mother died, I actually _do_ feel like I have a sense of, and therefore connection to, my maternal grandfather. Entirely because of the bibliography, though. I don't really have a sense of him _now_. I'm sort of in a weird emotional state right now.

Got long, I cut the part about people, and interest, and connection )

The idea of not having anything for which one is working in an entirely non-verbal space baffles the hell out of me. I can think of three things, off the top of my head, which are entirely non-verbal for me (math, energy work, touch of any sort).

Apparently yes, I do need a jacket. (Yes, I'm not in Boston. It couldn't find Andover. Where it's snowing. Not misty) I don't remember who linked to this.

I have no idea who linked to this, either, but University of Massachusetts researchers will announce today that they have discovered a strategy for immobilizing sperm and have reached an agreement with a Norwegian company to develop a male contraceptive pill.

Ok. Sleep now. Seriously.
