There was cookie making. I might have a lot of cookies now.

I might be wandering around school telling people to eat my cookies... :)

Tasty noms!

Mind you, I'm craving crappy chocolate like crazy, being not far from Halloween. But this morning I made use of our enthusiastic kale plants to make a kale salad that _wasn't_ unpleasantly textured.

See, it occurred to me that kale probably gets denatured by lemon juice just like meats do, so I asked google if this was true, and came up with the first recipe on this page: http://www.thepauperedchef.com/article/three-more-interesting-ways-cook-kale.

Adjusted it a bit to account for things we actually had (roasted, salted pepitas instead of pine nuts, and just lemon juice without zest), and other than possibly using too much lemon juice, I think it turned out nicely.

Kale salad for the win!

It is true that I largely eat so as to not be hungry or low blood sugar. It is true that my sense of taste is not as intense as my other senses, and I rarely crave foods of any sort. But I very much like variety in my food at meals, or I get bored (both multiple different things in a meal and preferably not the same meal in a row too many times)

Unfortunately, cooking is hard for me to do, as keeping track of as many things at once as it often requires tends to mean high stress, and high likelihood of forgetting about/to do something. Single dish meals, like chili, I'm decent at, but that has tended to mean both that there is not multiple different separate components to meals including that (this can, however, be helped by adding crunchy things, for some reason not clear to me). Baked goods, I'm pretty good at, or was the last time I did anything with that; have not done much that was complicated, though, and the problem with baked goods is that they tend to be very high in caloric content and less great for nutrition.

Also, I don't really _like_ cooking, even for single dish things, because it's still fairly high stress. It's just that single dish things I have a reasonable chance of not screwing up or getting too overwhelmed by trying to keep everything in my head at once. I suspect, in fact, that multiple dishes hits some combination of the fact that planning is complex for me, and that I am basically unable to guestimate how long things take.

But I do _like_ complicated/interesting foods. I'm rather absurdly fond of tapas, as they are very small amounts of foods, allowing for good amounts of variety without _way_ too much food, and often have interesting sauces on them.

Food is such a strange thing: I need to consume it, which annoys me frequently, especially if I'm low on resources (yes, I am fully aware of just how problematic that combination is). I do seem prone to blood sugar problems, in that I get largely nonfunctional if I don't eat often enough. I enjoy complicated stuff, and can only sanely make simple and rather boring things. I dislike many of the things that humans are supposed to biologically like (fatty foods, salty foods), although I do like sweet depending on the type of sweet.

I would like meal-in-a-pill, now, please! Then I can have tasty foods when that's the goal, and not deal with _eating_ when it's just because I need food. (an approximation that I do use sometimes is protein powder in orange juice, and meal bar like things)

I keep having an ENOBRAIN error. This makes getting things done difficult!

It's beautiful out, though. And I have a way shorter commute after work than I feared.

It's moderately amusing having had anyone ever ask me 'what people do' (in a specific situation). I seem to recall I commented that I have no idea what 'people' do, but that I can try to explain what _I_ do, inasmuch as ever having specific ideas of what I will or will not do has much useful effect beyond expanding my concept of possibilities (this is why there are _guidelines_, not rules, in my world). (cultural norms? You think I know those? Ha! :)

So. Tired.

But much less absurdly warm at home, as of last night.

Not eating cravings food is not because I am not allowing myself, it's because timing/hunger levels when availability/available amounts/energy levels have been conspiring against me. I'm not one who tends not to eat things if I want them. (or do things, for that matter)

ENOBRAIN!

Back to testing something _not urgent_ for the first time in at least two weeks. Sheesh.

*ignores pending urgent things that have not yet landed*

Mmm. Weekend soon. And my wrists are thinking about letting me possibly consider strength work while doing class things, even with crazy work. Miraculous! Massage last night helped, even if I was falling asleep during it.

I really want indian rice pudding or creme brule.

I have for... at least a week now. I have no idea what to do with this, since I don't tend to get food cravings. Although when I do, they tend to be sweet.

I'm actually having what appear to be allergies this spring.

Astounding!

And, when I forget to take something, headachy and confusing (because headaches, with hunger, tend to mean that my blood sugar is absurdly low and I Need Food Now).

_Busy_ first week of class. Damn! Also, busy work. Yeep!

You know, I'd kinda forgotten that I am less hungry (in all senses of the word) in Winter.

I kinda dislike nearly always being hungry. Clearly I need to be eating more... and I seriously need to replenish my snack food supply at work, since I just finished my rice cakes.

*ravenous*

Give to me the foooooood! I wonder if I have any granola bars in my bag...

Bakeries should deliver. However, failing that, at least there is one w/in walking distance which should be open until 9.
